Ibn Rajab said: "It was reported that great events occurred in the month of Rajab, but none of these were true. It was alleged that the Prophet – May Peace and Blessings be upon him - was born on the first night of it (Rajab), and that he was called to Prophet-hood in the twenty-seventh of it or the twenty-fifth as said by others, but nothing of all these were true..." (Lata'if Al-Ma'aarif, p. 233).

A Perception with some Muslim preachers:
Nowadays, some Muslim preachers are practicing some kinds of seasonal innovations (Bid'ah), like the innovation of (the month of) Rajab in spite of their conviction of its non-legitimacy under the pretext of being afraid to leave people free without (assigning them something as) worship, if they leave what they are doing as innovation (Bid'ah).

Although innovation is the gravest of sins after Shirk (polytheism), but this method of preaching and the system of changing is serious and opposed to the teachings of the Prophet – May Peace and Blessings be upon him -, indeed what they are obliged to do is: to simply invite people to the Sunnah (Prophetic Traditions) on which only depends the straightforwardness, Al-Thawry said: "The Islamic Jurists used to say: A saying won't be straight and correct unless it's followed by a deed, nor a saying and deed will be straight and correct unless they're followed by a (firm) will, nor a saying, deed and intention altogether will be straight and correct unless they're in accordance with the Sunnah (Prophetic Traditions)" (Al-Ibaanah Al-khubraa for Ibn Battawh, 1/333).
So, what was obliged to these people was to learn the Sunnah, teach it, then invite themselves and those around them to practice it, because the Prophet – May Peace and Blessing be upon him – says: "He who does an act which we have not commanded, will have it rejected (by Allah)", and May God have mercy upon Abi Al-Aaliyah when he told some of his companions: "Learn (and educate yourself in) Islam, If you have learned it, do not ever dislike it, and always hold fast to the straight path, indeed the straight path is Islam, nor you should deviate from the straight path from right and left, and you should also follow the Sunnah of your Prophet – May Peace and Blessings be upon him - and avoid these self-passions which are the causes of enmity and hatred between people" (Al-Ibaanah Al-khubraa for Ibn Battawh, 1/338).

As before him Hudhayfah - may Allah be pleased with him- said: "O readers: stay straightforward, for, you have really gone too beyond, if you drift from right and left you should know that you went deeply astray" (Al-Bida'a wa Al-Nah'yu Anha'a, for Ibn Wada'h, pp. 10-11).

Then, the Muslim preachers today and the Ummah (Community of Believers) altogether are required to stay on the path of the Prophet – May Peace and Blessings be upon him - in all matters, just like the way they are required to devote worship to Allah - the Almighty -, if they really want for themselves a salvation, and for their areligion triumph and fortification. Allah - the Almighty - said:
فَمَن كَانَ يَرْ‌جُو لِقَاءَ رَ‌بِّهِ فَلْيَعْمَلْ عَمَلًا صَالِحًا وَلَا يُشْرِ‌كْ بِعِبَادَةِ رَ‌بِّهِ أَحَدًا))
(So whoever would hope for the meeting with his Lord - let him do righteous work and not associate in the worship of his Lord anyone) [Al-Kahf: 110]
And He - the Almighty - said:
وَلَيَنصُرَ‌نَّ اللَّـهُ مَن يَنصُرُ‌هُ إِنَّ اللَّـهَ لَقَوِيٌّ عَزِيزٌ))
(And Allah will surely support those who support Him. Indeed, Allah is Powerful and Exalted in Might) [Al-Hajj: 40].
May Allah grant everyone good, for He is the sole Guide to the path of righteousness.
