1. Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e. the Day of Resurrection);
Has there come to you- O Prophet- the narration of the Day of Judgment which overwhelms people because of its terror?
1. Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated (in the Hell-fire, i.e. the faces of all disbelievers, Jews and Christians, etc.).
2. Labouring (hard in the worldly life by worshipping others besides Allah), weary (in the Hereafter with humility and disgrace).
3. They will enter in the hot blazing Fire,
4. They will be given to drink from a boiling spring,
5. No food will there be for them but a poisonous thorny plant,
7. Which will neither nourish nor avail against hunger.
The faces of the disbelievers on that day will be humiliated with punishment, overburdened with laborious work, they will be inflicted with blazing fire, and they will be made to drink from extremely boiling spring. The inhabitant will have no food other than a plant with thorns stickled to the ground and it is the most evil and vicious of food. It does not add weight to their body neither does it prevent hunger.
8. (Other) faces, that Day, will be joyful,
9. Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism).
1. In a lofty Paradise.
2. Where they shall neither hear harmful speech nor falsehood,
3. Therein will be a running spring,
4. Therein will be thrones raised high,
5. And cups set at hand.
6. And cushions set in rows,
16. And rich carpets (all) spread out.
The faces of the believers on the Day of Judgment will be joyful. They will be pleased in the hereafter with their struggles in obedience in this world. They will be in paradise of high positions where they will not hear even one word of falsehood. In it (Paradise) is a spring with water gushing and thrones raised high. There are cups prepared for drinking and cushions set in rows, side by side. And rich carpets spread out.
17. Do they not look at the camels, how they are created?
18. And at the heaven, how it is raised?
19. And at the mountains, how they are rooted and fixed firm?
20. And at the earth, how it is spread out?
Do the disbelievers who disproof not look at the camels: how was this amazing creature created, and at the heavens how was it raised in such a wonderful manner, and at the mountains how they were fixed thus, the earth was stabilized with it, and at the earth how it was spread out.
21. So remind them (O Muhammad ( )), you are only a one who reminds.
22. You are not a dictator over them.
So, admonish those who turn away (O Prophet) with what you were sent to them with and do not be sad over their turning away for you are just a warner to them. It is not your duty to force them to believe.
23. Save the one who turns away and disbelieves
24. Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment.
However, as for one who turns away from receiving admonition and persist on his disbelieve, he will be punished by Allah with a severe punishment in Hell fire.
25. Verily, to Us will be their return;
26. Then verily, for Us will be their reckoning.
Verily, to us is their return after their death, and then verily, for us will be their reckoning for their deeds.
