1. When the heaven is split asunder,
2. And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so;
3. And when the earth is stretched forth,
4. And has cast out all that was in it and became empty,
5. And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so;
When the heaven is cracked and is split with clouds on the Day of Judgment and it obeyed its Lord in what He has commanded of cleavage which it must obey, when the earth is spread forth and widened and its mountains have become grounded on that day, and it throws out what is in it of dead mortals and become empty, and it obeys its Lord in what He has commanded which it must obey.
6. O man! Verily, you are returning towards your Lord with your deeds and actions (good or bad), a sure returning, so you will meet (i.e. the results of your deeds which you did).
O man! Verily, you are moving towards Allah, and you are doing deeds of good or bad, then you will meet Allah on the Day of Judgment and He will reward you for your deeds with His favor or justice.
7. Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand,
8. He surely will receive an easy reckoning,
9. And will return to his family in joy!
As for him who will be given the record of his deeds with his right hands, that is a believer in his Lord; he will surely receive an easy reckoning and will return to his family in Paradise in joy.
10. But whosoever is given his Record behind his back,
11. He will invoke (his) destruction,
12. And shall enter a blazing Fire, and made to taste its burning.
13. Verily, he was among his people in joy!
14. Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)!
15. Yes! Verily, his Lord has been ever beholding him!
As for he who is given his record of deeds behind his back, that is a disbeliever in his Lord, he will invoke his destruction and he will enter Hell fire feeling its heat. Indeed, he was among his people in this world in joy and deception, he did not think about the end. He thought he will not return to his creator alive for reckoning. Yes! Allah will return him like he created him and reward him for his deeds. Verily, his Lord was well acquainted with him from the day He created him till the day he resurrected him.
1. So I swear by the afterglow of sunset;
2. And by the night and whatever it gathers in its darkness;
3. And by the moon when it is at the full,
19. You shall certainly travel from stage to stage (in this life and in the Hereafter).
Allah swears by the redness of the horizon during sun set, and by the night and what it gathers of animals, insects, and pests and so on, and by the Moon when its light is full. You shall travel- O man- from stage to stage and from different conditions- from a piece of semen to a leech to embryo to the blowing of life into it to death and to resurrection. It is not permissible for any creation to swear by other than Allah because that will amount to polytheism.
20. What is the matter with them, that they believe not?
21. And when the Qur'an is recited to them, they fall not prostrate,
22. Nay, (on the contrary), those who disbelieve, belie (Prophet Muhammad ( ) and whatever he brought, i.e. this Qur'an and Islamic Monotheism, etc.).
23. And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds),
24. So announce to them a painful torment.
What is it that is preventing them from believing in Allah and the last day after the signs have been made explicit to them? And what is wrong with them when the Quran is recited to them they do not prostrate to Allah and submit to what is contained in it? Indeed, the nature of those who disbelieve is to disproof and go against the truth. And Allah knows best what they hide in their hearts of stubbornness despite their knowledge of the fact that what the Quran brought is true. Hence, give the glad tiding – O Prophet- that Allah has prepared for them a painful punishment.
25. Save those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them is a reward that will never come to an end (i.e. Paradise).
But as for those who believe in Allah and His messenger, and fulfill their obligations to Allah, for them will be full reward in the hereafter.
