1. (The Prophet ( )) frowned and turned away,
2. Because there came to him the blind man.
The Prophet frowned his face and turned away because Abdullah bin Umm-Maktum came to him seeking for guidance while the Prophet ( ) was busy inviting some of the Quraish chiefs to Islam.
3 .But what could tell you that per chance he might become pure (from sins)?
4. Or that he might receive admonition, and that the admonition might profit him?
And what is it that makes you know the reality of his matter? Perhaps through his questions his soul will be purified or he will receive more admonition
5. As for him who thinks himself self-sufficient,
6. To him you attend;
7. What does it matter to you if he will not become pure.
As for him who sees himself as self-sufficient, you attend and listen to him. And what does it matter to you if he does not become purified from his disbelieve.
8. But as to him who came to you running.
9. And is afraid (of Allah and His Punishment),
10 Of him you are neglectful and divert your attention to another,
11. Nay, (do not do like this), indeed it (these Verses of this Qur'an) are an admonition,
12. So whoever wills, let him pay attention to it.
13. (It is) in Records held (greatly) in honour (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz).
14. Exalted (in dignity), purified,
15. In the hands of scribes (angels).
16. Honourable and obedient.
As for he who was keen to meet you and fear Allah from any defect in seeking guidance, you are too busy to attend to him. The issue is not like that- O Prophet. Verily, this chapter is an admonition for you and whoever wishes to receive admonition. Hence, whoever wishes let him remember Allah and follow His revelation. This revelation, which is the Qur’an, is in a glorified and revered sheet, purified from all impurities, addition and omission. It is in the hands of angels who are scribes, ambassadors between Allah and His creations, generous creations, their characters and actions are pious and pure.
17. Be cursed (the disbelieving) man! How ungrateful he is!
18. From what thing did He create him?
19. From Nutfah (male and female semen drops) He created him, and then set him in due proportion;
20. Then He makes the Path easy for him;
21. Then He causes him to die, and puts him in his grave;
22. Then, when it is His Will, He will resurrect him (again).
23. Nay, but (man) has not done what He commanded him.
A disbelieving person is cursed and punished. How severe is his disbelieve in his Lord! Can’t he see from what Allah created him at first? Allah created him from small quantity of water-sperm drop. Then He decreed him in stages then, He explained to him good and evil path then, He causes him to die and made a place for him to be buried then, when He wishes he brings him back to life, resurrects him for accountability and reward. The issue is not as the unbelievers says and does and so he did not carry out what Allah commanded him of faith and righteous deeds.
